Great Gallery of Horseshoe Canyon, Utah USA
The “Holy Ghost” section of the Great Gallery of Horseshoe Canyon.

WARNING: This is not an easy trip. It requires a 7 mile round trip hike through deep sand with a thousand foot elevation gain. Just reaching the parking lot requires a long drive on poorly maintained dirt roads that are impassible in bad weather. No Food, No Water, No Cell Service. Plans accordingly.

The Great Gallery is the type site for Barrier Canyon Style rock art. The 200 foot long panel is one of the most incredible in North America. The style is believed to date from the late archaic 2000 BCE to 500 CE.
